U.S. Rangers on British LCA's to join their ships. Rangers embark on June 1, 1944 and remain consigned five days on board English ships for safety measure. On this sight, certain soldiers carry the Bangalore torpedoes. All are fitted laced boots and gaiters.

Others finally are equipped with the waistcoat of attack, in the version of green fabric. As these waistcoats were distributed only ten days before June 6, this photo indeed taken with the loading for Preparation of "Operation Overlord" June 1, 1944.
